A bumper sticker caught my eye today. "If money is the root of all evil, then why do churches beg for it?" First off, money is not the root of all evil. Money, in whatever form, is just an instrument used to measure value.
It is the love of money that is the root of all evil.This is synonymous with greed.
Don't take my word for it, check it out for yourself. Open a Bible and read 1 Timothy 6:10. And, by the way, giving money or anything of value to the church is biblical.
